Maryland Recent Arrests is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, provide or remove an official booking photo, post bond, or retrieve a record from an agency. For an official answer, contact the office that created or holds the record.
Find the Record-Holding Office
Maryland bookings are handled through local custody systems, so the right office depends on where the arrest happened and where the person was taken. Use the County Directory to identify the relevant county or Baltimore City, then follow that locality’s official roster or records contact. A search service cannot confirm a current release or retrieve an agency file.
- County or city arrest: choose the jurisdiction in the County Directory and contact its sheriff, police, or detention records office.
- Booking record or photo: the Maryland recent-arrests page explains the local booking layer and the Public Information Act request path.
- Maryland State Police report: use the agency’s police report request page for motor-vehicle and incident reports, or its PIA request page for other existing public records.
- State custody: check the DPSCS Inmate Locator for people within its listed custody scope; it does not show every person held by DPSCS.
- Court status: use Maryland Case Search for a public summary or contact the clerk for the full case file.
- Federal or immigration custody: use the BOP locator for eligible sentenced federal inmates or the ICE locator for its covered detainee records. BOP does not provide public booking photos.
