How the Statewide Index Works
Maryland does not publish one complete real-time booking roster. County detention pages, local police releases, the Maryland Department of State Police newsroom, Maryland Case Search, and Maryland VINE answer different questions. A county system may show current custody or a booking image where its policy allows. A court summary records a later case stage. The DPSCS Inmate Locator covers specified state custody groups and warns that some people in DPSCS custody are not listed.
This project gathers official paths in one state-level reference and sends readers to the right county or city source when local custody is the question. It does not collect the underlying records, confirm a person’s current status, or replace the agency that maintains a roster. A missing match in one system is not proof that no arrest occurred.
Pages and Record Paths
The sections focus on separate parts of the Maryland record trail:
- The Maryland recent-arrests home page explains booking records, public photos, county rosters, and statewide wanted-list sources.
- The County Directory routes to each county and Baltimore City site.
- 24 Hour Arrests and Arrest Log distinguish current custody checks from dated blotter and newsroom archives.
- VINELink Check, Maryland arrest-record law, and Maryland Maryland State Police cover alerts, access rules, and agency news.
Limits of This Reference
Maryland Recent Arrests is privately operated and has no affiliation with a Maryland sheriff’s office, jail, corrections department, or other government agency. It cannot release or transfer a person in custody, confirm a release, provide or remove an official booking photo, or give legal advice.
- It cannot release, hold, or transfer anyone in custody.
- It cannot post bond, schedule a visit, or send money for a reader.
- It cannot give legal advice or decide whether a record should be public.
- It cannot promise that an outside agency’s page or record is complete or current.
Only the record-holding government office can confirm current custody, charges, release, or an official record. Arrest entries are accusations, not proof of guilt.
Search Partner Disclosure
Some pages contain search boxes operated by outside providers. Those providers set their own prices, terms, and results. If a visitor follows a partner link and signs up for a paid service, Maryland Recent Arrests may receive a referral fee. That support helps fund the reference pages, but it does not make a partner tool an official record source or give this site control over what the provider returns.
